Introducing OtterlyGood: a mobile-first development studio
Today we're officially launching OtterlyGood, a Flutter-first mobile app studio based in Manchester. Here's why we started it, and what we think it takes to build software people actually enjoy using.

We know what it takes to build great software, because we've spent the last six years doing it.
Today marks the official launch of Otterly Good Ltd, a mobile-first development studio based in Manchester.
We built this studio for a very specific reason: we believe businesses shouldn't have to accept sluggish, poorly engineered apps as the industry standard.
The problem with "good enough"
Somewhere along the line, the tech industry normalised buggy releases and laggy interfaces. Speed to market often comes at the expense of stability, leaving founders with apps that look fine on the surface but crumble underneath.
We started OtterlyGood to push back against that baseline. We design, build, and ship apps for startups, scale-ups, and established brands, apps that actually hold up once real people are using them.
Engineering a higher standard
We're Flutter specialists. One codebase ships polished iOS and Android apps, plus the web when you need it, so you're not paying for three builds when one will do. We don't just write code: we think it through properly first.
From product strategy to launch day, our process comes down to three things:
- Rigorous product strategy — working out exactly what needs building to hit your goals, and what doesn't.
- Frictionless UX design — interfaces that are intuitive, fast, and accessible.
- Clean, scalable architecture — a technical foundation that won't need a rewrite in six months.
There's no shortcut to quality. A good user experience needs a technical foundation that doesn't quietly fall over.
Let's build something better
Whatever your next mobile product looks like, we build it to look sharp, run smoothly, and hold up at scale, backend and all.
If your team is planning its next app, we'd love to hear about it. Start a project and let's talk about doing it right from day one.
